Our history

There is relatively little discussion of eye problems in horses. Numerous articles are published in specialist magazines and online about lameness, colic, back problems, dermatitis, etc. However, having discussed this issue on numerous occasions with equine veterinarians, it is clear that uveitis is becoming increasingly common and, with it, the need for specific, lengthy, and intensive treatment, not to mention the pain and discomfort experienced by the horse itself, which can even cause it to become unruly.
Following an episode of leptospirosis, one of my horses developed recurrent uveitis. Although treated by a veterinarian specializing in equine ophthalmology, successive attacks eventually left him blind. I then realized that UV protection was virtually non-existent on the market, even though it is absolutely essential and complementary to the treatments prescribed by the veterinarian. Of course, it does not cure the condition, but it allows the horse to lead a normal life, regardless of weather conditions.
This unfortunate experience was therefore the starting point for my business. I initially decided to import the glasses from Argentina. I then searched for a material that would block out light but still allow the horse to see through it, in order to create a mask suited to this particular context. These masks are manufactured in France by a small, high-quality sewing workshop. Other mask models will soon be available, often created based on testimonials and feedback from customers who have used them.
I am available to answer any questions you may have.

What size should I choose for my Equidiva mask/hat?

All measurements are approximate and are provided for informational purposes only.

Size guide - Premium or Helios mask

Using a tape measure (or a piece of string that you will measure afterwards), measure around your horse's head as shown in the photo:

Mask size Head circumference
XS - Shetland 84 cm
S - Pony 90 cm
M - Cob 94 cm
L - Full 100 cm
XL - XFull 110 cm
If your horse's head measurement falls between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger of the two.

Size guide - Equivizor masks (Lightweight, Arso, Convalescence models)

For these masks, the main measurement is the width of your horse's forehead. To do this, you need to add together three measurements:

  1. Start at the outer corner of one eye and measure upwards at a slight angle to the middle of the forehead (measurement A).
  2. continue along the front of your horse(measurement B),
  3. Finish the measurement by directing the line slightly downward to the outer corner of the other eye (measurement C). This way, you will measure the widest part of your horse's forehead.

Add these 3 measurements (A+B+C) to obtain the size of your horse's forehead.

IMPORTANT: Do not measure directly from one eye to the other, as this will likely result in an inaccurate measurement.
