Helios mask with ear covers, 90% UV protection

The Helios mask features UV-protective fabric (90%) and also protects against wind, hay, and of course insects. It is comfortable thanks to the fleece lining around all areas that come into contact with the horse's skin. Its headband keeps the fabric away from the eyes, and the fabric used for the hood allows for ventilation, which is welcome during the summer months. The vertical black strip at the nose does not obstruct the horse's vision, as horses mainly see to the sides and behind them. Its long removable nose cover also provides relief for some horses suffering from headshaking and protects horses with light-colored skin. 

Specific features of the Helios mask:
- Ventilated fabric between the ears and above the eyes,
- Headband to keep the fabric away from the eyes,
- 90% UV-protective micro-perforated fabric to protect the eyes and nose,
- Lycra fabric for the ear covers,
- Velcro closure at the throat + plastic safety clip on top to prevent another horse from pulling on the Velcro,
- Fleece finish on all parts in contact with the horse's skin.

Premium mask with ear covers, 90% UV protection

This unique ophthalmic cap is the perfect complement to ophthalmic protection/goggles for horses. It provides excellent insulation and is therefore recommended for use in spring, fall, and winter. For summer, opt for the Hélios mask, which is lighter and more breathable, yet just as effective. Completely flexible, the Premium mask can be worn permanently and safely by any horse requiring special eye protection (uveitis, ulcer, cataract, etc.), both in the field and in the stall. It also provides effective protection against wind, dust, hay stalks, rain, etc.It can be used for outdoor work or flatwork. Given its opacity, we do not recommend using it for jumping; for these disciplines, opt for Evysor goggles or equigoogs.

Designed in two parts combining two technical materials, it will ensure maximum comfort and protection for your horse:
- Cap section: water-repellent stretch fabric. Closes with a wide Velcro strip and one adjustable strap under the throat.
- Eye section: durable, micro-perforated coated fabric providing optimal protection from UV rays, wind, dust, hay, etc.

- 1 removable inner foam pad keeps the fabric away from the horse's eyes.

- Semi-rigid headgear provides excellent support for the mask and ensures that the fabric remains away from the eyes.

Use: these masks are the perfect complement to veterinary treatment for horses suffering from ophthalmological conditions such as uveitis, ulcers, conjunctivitis, keratitis, cataracts, etc.
They can be used for flatwork, but given their opacity, we do not recommend using them for jumping; for these disciplines, opt for working goggles.

Clean masks withcold soapy water and a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly, hang up, and leave to dry in the open air.

Please note: If you have taken out insurance covering your horse's veterinary expenses, the purchase of eye protection required in the event of an accident or treatment for an eye condition may be covered in whole or in part by your insurance company. If this is the case, and subject to its terms and conditions and the policy taken out, it will require the products to be prescribed by your veterinarian on the prescription they give you.

Horses are not designed to wear masks! Make sure at least once a day that the mask has not moved and that your horse is comfortable wearing it. We take the utmost care in manufacturing our products and selecting materials, but every horse is different and it is your responsibility to check that the equipment you choose (model + size) provides the necessary protection for your horse's eyes.
